07.03.2020 The event "Dances of India: the history of ancient art"

On March 7, 2020 at 14.00 the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in cooperation with the Almaty-Kazakhstan Center for Indian Classical Dance holds an event “Dances of India: the History of Ancient Art”, dedicated to the opening of the “Center for Indian Classical Dance Almaty-Kazakhstan” and 150 anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

afisha-dance-of-india2020For many years, the Central State Museum has been actively cooperating with the Center for Indian Classical Dance and holds joint events.

The Almaty-Kazakhstan Center for Indian Classical Dance, led by Akmaral Kainazarova, is the first and only non-profit institution of international level in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, which since 2006 has been engaged in the study and popularization of the musical heritage and traditional art of India.

The “Center for Indian Classical Dance Almaty-Kazakhstan” in cooperation with the Embassy of India in the Republic of Kazakhstan, international and public organizations, concert halls, educational institutions, museums conducts fruitful educational work aimed at introducing Kazakhstani people with traditional culture, art, music and dance of India. The center is the owner of the Grand Prix and prizes at international competitions in Poland, Georgia, Spain, India and other countries.

The event is held to demonstrate the instrumental music, songs and folk dances of India, the ancient art of classical Indian dance – Bharatanatyam, Kathak, as well as traditional Indian Yoga.

In the program of the event:

  • performance of students of the "Center for Indian Classical Dance Almaty-Kazakhstan" with Indian classical dances Bharatanatyam, Kathak;
  • instrumental music;
  • songs and folk dances of India;
  • lecture on the theme “Features of the costume of the ancient art of Bharatanatyam”, history of which dates back 2000 years.
  • excerpts of dance theory performed in Sanskrit.

The event helps to strengthen cultural ties between the Republic of India and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Event time: from 14.00 to 17.00

13-17.12.2019 The largest international exhibition "Christmas Art Fair-2019."

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Creative Seasons Company from December 13 to 17, 2019 holds the largest international exhibition "Christmas Art Fair-2019."

The exhibition "Christmas Art Fair-2019."For most of us, the New Year is the most important and long-awaited holiday. This is a celebration of the fulfillment of the most cherished desires, a beautiful, kind fairy tale that comes to every house at the end of each year. Holding art exhibitions in the museum has become a bright event and a good tradition. At the exhibition, the artist works and art projects of more than 300 leading designers, artists and creative people from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Italy, Uzbekistan and Germany will be presented. Artists of the author's doll: Anastasia Eliseeva, Nadezhda Kravchenko, Larisa Kiryanova, the union of the author's doll Asia Doll will take part.

The community of bead art masters of Kazakhstan will present the photo project "Beads unites countries, peoples, and continents", which decorated the cover of the Ukrainian magazine "Fashion Needlework" and is preparing a show in Moscow in collaboration with Russian clothing designers. The photo project brought together 12 talented artists.

The largest Christmas art fair exhibits: designer clothes, designer jewellery and accessories, Christmas toys, New Year's gifts, interior items, jewellery, delicate silk, the warm designer felt, stylish china, bags, bright ceramics, eco-cosmetics. Moreover, bright lollipops, clouds of cotton candy, author's caramel, gingerbread cookies, chocolate, pastries, etc., will be presented.

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Creative Seasons Company invite everyone to visit the Christmas Art Fair-2019.

The opening of the art exhibition-fair will take place on December 13, 2019, at 13-00.

Opening hours of the exhibition-fair: December 13-17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

3-4.08.2019 The international business forum and exhibition of goods manufactured in Afghanistan called, “Afghanistan: New Trade Horizons”

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with support from USAID, and in collaboration with the General Consulate of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Almaty, the Commercial Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 

“Afghanistan: New Trade Horizons”.

Almaty, and the Association of Business Women of Afghanistan under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (AICI) is holding the international business forum and exhibition of goods manufactured in Afghanistan called, “Afghanistan: New Trade Horizons”.

The event is held for the first time in Kazakhstan and takes place on August 3-4, 2019.

Throughout history, Afghanistan has been famous for its craftsmanship.  Afghan businesses will exhibit a wide range of their famous goods and handicrafts, including woodcarving, dressing screens, furniture, toreutic jars, engraved decorations, jewelry, and goods made of brass and bronze. All these items capture the culture, traditions and customs of the Afghan people.

About 30 enterprises are going to represent different Afghan industries, including hand-made carpets, decorative embroidery, clothes, cloth, pottery works and souvenirs. Guests will have a chance to see hand-made jewelry, sweets, and dried fruit. The event will provide an opportunity for residents of Almaty to purchase products from leading Afghan businesses.

The opening ceremony of exhibition will include representatives of Almaty Mayor’s Office, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and USAID. The exhibition will contribute to the strengthening and further development of economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

The official opening of the exhibition will be held on August 3 at 12.00

The exhibition is open from 9.00 to 17.30 on Saturday, August 3, and from 9.30 to 17.30 on Sunday, August 4

Entrance to the exhibition is paid: Adult ticket – 450 tenge, Seniors and Students - 300 tenge, Children - 200 tenge.

03.11.2019 "Japan Culture Day in Almaty"

On November 3, 2019 from 14.00 to 18.00    the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan-Japan Center for Human Resource Development at the Narxoz University, the Association of Japanese in Kazakhstan with the assistance of the Japan Foundation, the Kazakhstan-Japan Silk Road Association, hold the traditional festival "Japan Culture Day".

"Japan Culture Day in Almaty"-2019The aim of the festival is to strengthen cultural cooperation, develop ties and deepen mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Japan, as well as familiarize residents and guests of Almaty with traditions and customs, with modern innovative and intellectual achievements of the Land of the Rising Sun.

The event at the museum will allow everyone to participate in fascinating workshops on Japanese art forms, try popular Japanese dishes and plunge into the amazing and distinctive world of Japanese culture under the rhythmic beats of Japanese Taiko drums. This festival is held for 14 years within the walls of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to established tradition, during the festival the secrets of the tea ceremony, the art of calligraphy, ikebana, origami, Furoshiki, board logic games (shogi, go, mahjong), needlework and other elements of Japanese culture, life and arts and crafts will be presented.

A distinctive feature of this year's festival is the traditional Japanese entertaining games for children, which will be held by the spouses of Japanese employees working in Almaty. A team of volunteers will perform the Gorin Ondo dance of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The group of drummers “Ooedodayko”, beloved by Almaty residents, will traditionally become a bright accent of the holiday. At the festival, various Japanese language courses, business courses, tours to Japan, information about the summer children's camp, etc. will be represented.

The event will be decorated with decorative and applied art – embroidery Kogin (kogin) craftswomen from Japan Kuzuzawa Keiko.

The event will be solemnly opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Tatsuhiko KASAI.
