On 3 September 2026, the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold a roundtable entitled «Language – the Treasure of the People» as part of the celebration of the Day of the Languages of the People of Kazakhstan.

The official holiday, celebrated since 1998, aims to enhance the status of the state language, promote respect for the languages of all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan, and foster linguistic culture.

The purpose of the round table is to reflect on the significance of the Kazakh language as a national value; to discuss ways of expanding the public and professional use of the state language; to strengthen unity and harmony in Kazakhstan’s multi-ethnic society; to exchange professional views on current areas of Kazakhstan’s language policy; and to develop proposals aimed at improving scientific and methodological practices in the field of language development.

Language is not merely a matter of philology or language education. It is a strategic area directly connected to the country's social, cultural, scientific, and civic development. In this context, the forthcoming meeting will serve not simply as a commemorative event, but as a platform for professional discussion of current issues and for experience exchange among research institutes and language development centers working systematically in this field.

During the event, scholars from the Institute for the Development of the State Language and the A. Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics will present the results of their research and share their experience in the field of linguistics. In addition, lecturers from the Almaty branch of the Institute for Professional Development of the National Centre for Professional Development «Orleu» will speak about their practical experience in language teaching.
