International Cooperation

The National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan actively develops international cultural ties and builds mutually beneficial partnerships with foreign scientific and cultural institutions. These partnerships include the exchange of professional experience, joint exhibitions, research projects, and initiatives aimed at promoting cultural heritage.

As part of its international cooperation, the museum implements joint exhibitions and cultural projects with the Centre of Islamic Civilisation, the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan, and the Yamashiroya Gallery (Japan).

Cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkiye in Almaty includes Turkish language courses for museum staff and professional development activities for specialists in museum studies. The museum also works systematically with the International Organization of Turkic Culture «TURKSOY»  on joint exhibitions and cultural-educational projects. At present, preparations are underway for international exhibitions in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and the People’s Republic of China featuring items from the collections of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The museum continues to expand its partnerships with foreign museums, research centres, and cultural organizations, while actively participating in international exhibitions, conferences, forums, and cultural programs. This cooperation promotes Kazakhstan’s national historical and cultural heritage internationally, supports the introduction of advanced museum practices, and strengthens intercultural dialogue.

International exhibitions and cultural events play an important role in presenting unique items from the museum’s collections to the global community and in deepening cultural exchange.
