03.08.2026 The exhibition «The World Around Us» by the Almaty City Artists’ Club «Samotsvet»

On August 3, 2026, at 4:00 pm., the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold the exhibition «The World Around Us» by the Almaty City Artists’ Club «Samotsvet», which is celebrating its 55 end anniversary.

The history of the club dates back to 1971, when one of Kazakhstan’s largest associations of amateur artists was established. Over the years, the club has brought together more than 400 artists and has been an active participant in national and international exhibitions. Preserving the continuity of artistic traditions, the club continues to unite artists of different generations and professions, for whom visual art has become an important part of life.

The exhibition features approximately 150 paintings and graphic works created by the club’s members. The presented artworks demonstrate the artists’ commitment to the traditions of the realist school, where direct observation of nature and the emotional experience of what is seen play a central role. Rather than pursuing decorative effects, the artists seek to create images imbued with tranquility, harmony, and quiet contemplation.

Today, the club includes professional artists, art teachers, and dedicated amateur painters who continue to preserve and develop artistic traditions. For many years, its members have regularly organized group and solo exhibitions, introducing audiences to the diversity of contemporary art.

A thoughtful appreciation of the surrounding world unites all the works presented. The artists do not strive for complex narratives; instead, they discover artistic expression in the simple motifs of everyday life. The ability to perceive beauty in ordinary surroundings and daily existence forms the central artistic concept of The World Around Us. The exhibition continues the traditions of realist art while emphasizing the value of direct emotional perception and the harmonious relationship between humanity and nature.

Through their individual artistic language, the participating artists reveal the richness of the surrounding world by depicting nature, the changing seasons, flowers, peaceful landscapes of their homeland, and architectural motifs.

The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to become acquainted with the creativity and distinctive artistic approaches of the members of the «Samotsvet» Artists’ Club, to trace the continuity of artistic traditions, and to see how a sincere perception of everyday reality is transformed into expressive works of art.

The exhibition will run until August 17, 2026.
