20.04.2016. Memorial exhibition «Қазақтың Кәукені» dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kauken Kenzhetayev
On 20th April, 2016 in the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan at 15.00 opens memorial exhibition «Қазақтың Кәукені» dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR Kauken Kenzhetayev (1916-2008) - singer, actor, director, playwright, laureate of International Prize of Chingiz Aitmatov, laureate of independent award "Tarlan".
The creativity of Kauken Kenzhetayev occupies a special place in the Kazakh national art. He is well-known for the general audience for memorable film images of historical figures and contemporary films: "Our dear doctor", "On wings of song", "Kyz Zhibek", "On the trail of Tulpar (horse)", "Gaukhartas" and others.
K. Kenzhetayev was born in 1916 in Bayanaul district of Pavlodar region. In 1935-41 he studied at the Kazakh studio under the Moscow Conservatory. From 1942-1946 he worked in the song and dance ensemble of the border guards in Khabarovsk. In 1950 he successfully graduated from the vocal faculty of the Alma-Ata Conservatory of A.M. Kurganov. From that time begins a long and happy career of K. Kenzhetaev as a singer and actor.
The creativity of Kauken Kenzhetayev is multifaceted. It covers a variety of genres. As a director he has staged E. Brusilovsky "Er Targyn", "Zhalbyr", "Kyz Zhibek", "Amangeldy" S. Muhamedzhanov "Aisulu", E. Rakhmadiyev "Alpamys", P.I. Tchaikovsky "The Queen of Spades" and acted as Targyn, Bekezhan (in the operas "Er Targyn","Kyz Zhibek"), Ruslan (in Glinka's opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila") and others. His plays «Алдар көсенің айласы», «Хусни-Қорлан», «Қаңбақ шал», «Күйші», «Қалқаман-Мамыр», «Кемпір мен шал» included in the treasury of the Kazakh performing art.
Since 1979, he engaged in teaching activities in the Kazakh Academy of Arts named after T.Zhurgenov, in the department of musical comedy, he trained not one generation of talented actors and singers of opera.
Outstanding merits of Kauken Kenzhetayev in art and pedagogy marked by high state awards - medals and the Orders of Red Banner of Labor, the October Revolution, "Parasat", "Otan".
At the exhibition photographs, awards, personal belongings, books, posters, family archive documents from the Central Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the materials of his wife - Kazakh opera singer, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR Shabal Beysekova from the History Museum (Almaty) funds are presented. For the first time from the CSM RK funds a unique collection of sketches of decoration, scene costumes of performances, in which participated K. Kenzhetayev, performed by famous artists of Kazakhstan A. Nenashev and S. Romanov are exhibited.
At the grand opening of the exhibition invited famous figures of art and culture, family and relatives, admirers of Kenzhetayev talent.

18.03.2016. The exhibition of the Kazakh traditional utensils «Сырлы аяқтың сыны кетпес»
On 18th March, 2016 at 15.00 the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – CSM RK) opens an exhibition of the Kazakh traditional utensils «Сырлы аяқтың сыны кетпес» from the collections of the CSM RK dedicated to "Nauryz" - one of the oldest holidays in the world.
22nd March - the day of vernal equinox Nauryz holiday is celebrated. In the Kazakh traditional environment believed that the richer will be held Nauryz the year will be fortunate. Nauryz kozhe traditional festive dish is prepared. And for the man who tastes it in the seven houses, the year will be successful. On the great holiday each house lay a rich dastarkhan (table) symbolizing abundance in the coming year. Therefore on Nauryz holiday prepared a lot of food, which according to the legend brought prosperity.
Comprehensive disclosure of the role and importance of the traditional Kazakh utensils is the main objective of this exhibition.
Beautiful and varied kitchen utensils was one of the indicators of wealth, good relationship and respect, peace and good neighborliness and even the cleanness of the house, etc.
As is known, utensils are a set of devices for cooking, as well as its consumption, keeping and transportation. The climatic conditions, way of life, and the specifics of its economic activities depend on forms and types of dishes. In accordance with the requirements of the nomadic life utensils was made mostly of wood, leather, bone, animal horns. Since ancient times utensils of metal and fired clay are also used. Patterns on traditional vessels are not only an ornament, but also had a magical character, played the role of amulets from "the evil eye", "incantations", thereby providing a "pure" content of food.
At the exhibition around 100 items from the collection of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be presented.

24.02.2016 The exhibition «Жыр алыбы Жамбыл», dedicated to the 170th anniversary of national akyn (poet) Zhambyl Zhabayev
Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 24th February, 2016 at 15.00 in the framework of the celebration of "1000 - anniversary of Almaty city" opens the exhibition «Жыр алыбы Жамбыл», dedicated to the 170th anniversary of national akyn (poet) Zhambyl Zhabayev.
In 2016 the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan holds a number of events to celebrate the "1000th anniversary of Almaty city". One of the first events is the exhibition «Жыр алыбы Жамбыл» from the museum collection. The name of the famous Kazakh poet - Zhambyl Zhabayev is known not only in our country but also far beyond its borders.
In the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan personal items and a variety of materials, reflecting the life and work of the great poet are housed.
The exhibition «Жыр алыбы Жамбыл» it’s a kind of tribute to the memory of the great poet.
The purpose of the exhibition: to introduce visitors to the rich artistic heritage of Zhambyl Zhabayev, providing the most interesting documentary photos, personal items and written materials relating to the creation of the national poet.
Zhambyl Zhabayev was born in February of 1846. He was a consummate master of aitys (song competition). Zhambyl entered into poetic dispute with many akyns from different regions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The most famous aitys with Baktybai, Aykumys, Sarybas, Shashubai and Kulmambet. According to Zhambyl were written epics "Suranshi Batyr", "Utegen Batyr" fairy tales "Khan and poet", "The Tale about lazy person" and others. Since 1936 works of Zhambyl widely popularized not only in the Kazakh language, but also in Russian.
The national akyn was awarded by the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of Lenin, "Badge of Honor". In 1941, for outstanding achievements in the field of literature Zhambyl Zhabayev was awarded the title of laureate of the State Prize.
At the exhibition rarely masterpieces, such as "Portrait of Zhambyl” of Abylkhan Kasteev and "Resting Zhambul” of genius sculpture Isaac Itkind, as well as paintings of L.P. Leontiev and N.P. Karpovsky will be presented.
Among the exhibits of great interest is a book in a silver frame «Жамбыл шығармалары» (Zhambyl works) consisting of handwriting and decorated inlay with semiprecious stones.
The artifact is a photo album dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Zhambyl, which contains photos of the life and work of the national poet are also significant. At the exhibition little-known photos of akyn from the museum fund, letters of workers and pupils with congratulations, song translations into Russian, awards, books and personal exhibits will be presented.
On the opening day of the exhibition will be a concert with the participation of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory and Zhambyl Kazakh State Philharmonic as well as will be held thematic tours for visitors.
