A modern museum should not only be a cultural treasure trove, but also a place of leisure for the whole family. Since 2022, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan has successfully operated a Children's Coworking Center, which is visited by parents with children, including mothers with babies. Supporting world practice, the Central Museum, as part of the celebration of the City Day and the announced theme "Almaty is our common home", on September 14, 2024, at 11.00 a.m., for the first time opens a recreation Room for mothers and children within its walls in order to support young families and create favorable conditions, comfort for mothers and their babies. The room is equipped with furniture and a changing table, lamps, a quartz lamp, accessories for playing with the baby, creating all conditions for comfortable feeding and relaxation.
The project was sponsored by the Institute of Reproductive Medicine (IRM), the largest network of clinics for the treatment of male and female infertility in Kazakhstan (head — Dzhusubalieva Tamara Muftakhovna), whose priority task is to provide highly qualified medical care to the population in solving reproductive health problems. Over the past almost 30 years, more than 30,000 children have been born thanks to the IWW.
On this festive day, the Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan also holds a cultural and educational event dedicated to the Day of our beloved city "Almaty is a city of culture and creativity".
The program of the event includes a concert, an exhibition of drawings by schoolchildren of the Umai Children's Art School on the theme "My favorite landmark of Almaty" and pupils of the Dostyk and Zhas Ulan leisure Centers on the theme "Almaty – the city of tulips"; a quiz dedicated to the history of Almaty and its development and a master class for children on painting "Almaty is a city of creativity and inspiration".
04.09.2024 The presentation of the "OPEN RESTORATION CENTER"
On September 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan invites you to the presentation of the "OPEN RESTORATION CENTER" aimed at expanding visitors' knowledge about the restoration and conservation of museum artifacts.
The purpose of the opening of the restoration center is: to preserve and protect museum objects, to ensure their accessibility to the public by further showing them to visitors.
Restoration and conservation of museum objects is one of the main and complex areas of museum activity, which includes a set of measures aimed at preserving, restoring and preventing the destruction of exhibits.
The Restoration Department of the Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established in 1978. Specialists of the restoration department carry out complex and step-by-step work on the restoration of wood, leather, bone, metal, ceramics, fabric, as well as works of art, making a significant contribution to the restoration and careful storage of museum valuables.
The Open Restoration Center solves several tasks: demonstration to museum visitors of various directions of museum restoration; familiarization of visitors with the peculiarities of technologies and methods of restoration and conservation of museum valuables; presentation of restored museum objects (archaeological, ethnographic materials, historical documents and manuscripts from the museum fund, etc.); to show the important role of the profession of "restorer" in preservation and restoration historical, artistic and cultural values; providing opportunities for visitors to study and receive advice on the preservation and conservation of historical values; developing cooperation with museum specialists and researchers of the republic to ensure the best practice of preserving and interpreting collections.
As part of the presentation, a round table on the topic "Methods of restoration of cultural heritage sites" will be held: SPEAKERS - Majer Masanov "Restoration works implemented within the framework of the UNESCO Silk Road project", coordinator of the Unesco and the European Union Silk Road project; Aizhan Bekkulova, Chairman of the Union of Artisans of Kazakhstan, Member and expert of the National Commission on Intangible Cultural Heritage Elina Altynbekova "Renaissance of the carved door of the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi: conservation and restoration", designer and restorer of the Scientific Restoration Laboratory "Island of Krym".
During the opening of the Restoration Center, the staff of the Central Museum will present demonstration workshops in the following areas:
• Restoration of ceramics (Kurakbayev A.M.);
• Restoration of woven carpets and products (Ibraeva D.);
• Restoration of felt carpets and products (Mekebayeva G.);
• Restoration of clothes and fabrics (Perova O.);
• Restoration of metal (Shaikenov B.);
• Restoration of paintings and works of art (Zamanbekova Sh.).
The opening of the Restoration Center will increase interest in the museum and attract the attention of both visitors and specialists (restorers, art historians, artists, masters of decorative and applied arts, etc.), the scientific community, as well as all those interested in preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
As part of the presentation, unique exhibits will be presented – dimensional drawings of the washing of the detail of the majolin border of the Gur-khana dome, the unfolding of the facade of the corner three-quarter majolica column with fragments of the panel of the northern niche of Kazanlak, the restoration project of khanaka Kazanlak, etc. the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi complex, XIV century. (Turkestan, Turkestan region), made by the famous researcher Mankovskaya Liya Yulievna, Doctor of Art History, Soviet researcher of architecture of Central Asia and Kazakhstan of the IX – early XX centuries, prepared for restoration work. As well as pencil drawings of the carved door to the tomb of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi were made by the artist Kenbaev Moldakhmet Syzdykovich (1925-1993), Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR.

05.07.-30.08.2024 Summer creative program at the museum
From July 5 to August 30, 2024, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan invites children and adults to various workshop sessions, interesting quests and excursions organized as part of the summer program. Each participant can take with them handicrafts they made at the workshop session as souvenirs. In addition, by participating in the “My Family at the Museum” photo competition, the best photo will be posted on the museum’s social networks.

09.08.2024 The ceremonial event dedicated to the birthday of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayuly
A ceremonial event dedicated to the birthday of the great Kazakh poet, educator, founder of written literature Abai Kunanbayuly was held at the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on August 9, 2024.
The purpose of the event: to instill human values in each person through the works of Abai.
The event was opened by the director of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, R. Ye. Kharipova, who introduced the most valuable exhibits related to the legacy of Abai in the funds of the Central Museum.
Also, the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Nur Zhandosovich Magazbekov, made a speech, noting that the propaganda of Abai's heritage does not lose its value at any time.
Kyuishi Karash Talap, an excellent worker of culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, performed his work "Abai toyi" dedicated to the great poet.
Also Soloists of Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre, laureates of international competitions Baluan Berkenov, Damir Saduakasov, Aliyar Otetileu performed Abai’s work.
In addition, the soloist of Abay Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater, laureate of international competitions Baluan Berkenov performed the song "Kozimnin karasy", and laureate of international competitions Aliyar Otetileu presented the audience with the composition "Abay shygarmalaryna arnalgan fortepianolyk fantasiya (A piano fantasy for the works of Abai)". Representatives of the ethnocultural centers at the Republican House of Friendship, pupils of the "the Young Wing branch" department of the public club "Shynga orleu" of the city of Almaty and the regional center for supporting children in need of special social services also presented their work. The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a cultural event dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the legendary Kazakh poet, composer and singer Kenen Azirbayev.
The ceremony was opened by Anna Viktorovna Kushenko, Deputy Director of the Central Museum for Museum Management and Marketing, who noted the special role of young people in further popularization of the musical heritage of the great composer.
The guests were addressed by a traditional singer, Master of Art History Amanzhol Kuanyshuly, who gave a lecture for children, shared valuable information about the life and work of Kenen Azirbayev and sang his famous songs “Bastau" and “Igigai".
Then the ensemble of dombrists of the Sanat School of Art in Almaty came out to the public, performing selected works by Kenen Azirbayev.
The purpose of the event is to popularize Kenen Azirbayev's work among the younger generation, get acquainted with his songs and glorify national values.
The legendary akyn, zhyrau, kuishi, a public figure born at the end of the nineteenth century, thanks to his multifaceted talent, became a chronicler of the twentieth century and left behind a rich legacy.
His works, including ten dastans, over a hundred songs, over a thousand works of poetry, aitys, seven kuys and his notes on outstanding personalities are invaluable historical data today. His songs and poems are still published and in great demand.
